Magistrates court

There are a number of locations both within the metropolitan area and regional Western Australia where Magistrates Courts exist. This court mainly deals with matters that are either:

  • Criminal – or
  • Civil - non-offence based matters (e.g. extraordinary drivers licence applications, and restraining orders).

It is usually the court where most criminal proceedings commence. If you have been served a summons or have been released on bail to attend one of these courts, you should seek legal representation.
